Changelog
No versions have been released. This page explains what a release entry will contain, and records what has actually shipped on this surface so far.

There is no TempoLife browser extension. It is not in the Chrome Web Store, not on addons.mozilla.org, and there is no unpacked build to sideload. Anything you find under that name is not ours. What is on this page is a description of what it would do, and a bookmarklet that does a useful slice of it today.
No versions have been released
There is no version 1.0, no beta and no unlisted build. A changelog with nothing in it looks like an oversight, so this page says it in words instead: nothing has shipped, and when something does, its entry will appear here with a date and a version number rather than in a blog post that disappears.
What has actually shipped on this surface
| Date | What | Detail |
|---|---|---|
| 2026-09-02 | Bookmarklet published | A drag-to-install food lookup that sends selected text to the live /api/answer endpoint. No external code, no storage, source printed in full for audit. |
| 2026-09-02 | Extension pages published | The planned overlay, the permission list it would request, the privacy boundary, and this changelog. |
| — | Extension version 1.0 | Not released. Nothing is in either store. |
What a release entry will contain
The format, fixed now so it is not invented under pressure later:
- Version and date. Semantic versioning, and the date the build reached users rather than the date it was submitted — store review queues make those different by days.
- Permission changes, first and in bold. Any new permission is the most important thing in a release and will be at the top, with the reason. An extension that quietly widens its access is the thing this whole surface is trying not to be.
- What changed in matching. The overlay's value is ingredient matching, so an entry will say which ingredients started resolving and which stopped.
- Fixes, with the symptom you would have noticed. "Fixed a bug in the parser" tells you nothing; "recipes on sites that list ingredients in two columns showed half the total" tells you whether it affected you.
- Known problems. Every release has some. Listing them is cheaper than support email.
How you will find out
Browsers update extensions silently, which is good for security patches and bad for informed consent — except for permission changes, which require your approval and will pause the update until you give it. If you ever see that prompt from a TempoLife extension, the reason will be at the top of this page on the same day. There is no notification list to join; account holders hear about it with everything else.
Until then the bookmarklet is the whole product, and it has no update channel at all — the copy in your bookmarks bar is the copy that runs, forever, until you replace it. That is a real advantage and a real limitation: if the endpoint it calls ever changes, you would need to drag a new one.
Drag that button to your bookmarks bar. Do not click it here. This page sends a strict Content-Security-Policy that forbids inline script, so a click on this site is blocked by design — which is also a small demonstration that the page is not running it for you. Once the link lives in your bookmarks bar it runs against whatever page you are on instead.
Frequently asked questions
Which version is current?
None. No extension has been released, so there is no version number yet.
Where will new versions be announced?
Here, with a date and the permission changes at the top. Account holders also hear about it with other product news.
Does the bookmarklet update itself?
No. The copy in your bookmarks bar is fixed until you replace it, which is both a security advantage and the reason to check back if it ever stops working.
