How this database works
Every row here is one barcode. The numbers are the manufacturer’s own declared values as printed on the pack, collected by the Open Food Facts project and published under the Open Database License. Nothing is measured here and nothing is estimated: if a field was blank on the label, it is blank on the page.
Import is deliberately boring. A person downloads an Open Food Facts export, and a command-line script reads that local file, filters it to one country, normalises the field names and writes the rows into this site’s own table. The website never calls Open Food Facts while you are reading it, so this page cannot slow down or leak your reading to a third party, and the data cannot change under you mid-session. The trade-off is honest and worth stating: a row is only as fresh as the last import, and each page prints the date its row was fetched so you can judge that for yourself.
Because the values come from labels rather than from laboratory analysis, they follow labelling rounding rules and legal tolerances. Two jars of the same thing from different factories can legitimately declare different numbers, a value under 0.5 g is often printed as zero, and energy is declared per 100 g of the product as sold. Treat a packaged-product figure as the manufacturer’s claim, which is exactly what it is.
Label values are the manufacturer's declaration and follow legal rounding and tolerance rules. They are general information, not dietary or medical advice, and nothing here is a diagnosis. If you are managing an allergy, an intolerance or a medical diet, read the physical pack in front of you — that is the only label that binds.

Where do these numbers come from?
From the pack. Open Food Facts collects manufacturers' declared label values and publishes them under the Open Database License; this site imports a local copy of that export. No value on a product page is measured or estimated by us.
How current is a product page?
As current as the last import. Every product page prints the date its row was fetched, so you can see the age of the figure instead of guessing at it.
Why is a field blank?
Because the label did not declare it, or the source row does not have it. Blank means unknown here; it never means zero.
Can I use this data myself?
The underlying database is ODbL-licensed, which carries share-alike and attribution obligations. Read the licence before you reuse it, and attribute Open Food Facts rather than this page.
