How this board works
Four columns and no dates. An item enters at Considering, which means somebody has argued for it; it reaches Planned when it has been decided on; Building when work has started; and Shipped when it is live for everyone. The last column is the only one that can be checked from outside, which is why it exists — every shipped item is in the release notes too.
Votes are a signal, not a queue. They tell us which ideas people care about, and they lose to a bug that is losing somebody's data, to work that unblocks other work, and to anything the smallest number of people can live without. Publishing the counts is more useful than pretending they decide the order.
Anyone with an account can vote once per item and can file a suggestion. New suggestions land in Considering tagged as member suggestions, which is exactly what they are until somebody has read them properly. Being on the board is not agreement.
Suggest something
Suggestions need an account. Not to gate the idea — to keep one person from filing forty of them, and so a suggestion has somebody to come back to when it is unclear what was meant.
Frequently asked questions
Why are there no dates?
Because any date we published would be a guess, and a guess on a roadmap gets read as a commitment. The columns say what stage something is at, which is the part we actually know.
Does the most-voted item get built first?
No. Votes show demand; they do not outrank data loss, security work or something that unblocks three other things. The counts are published so you can see the demand, not so you can see the queue.
What happens to my suggestion?
It appears immediately under Considering, labelled as a member suggestion, and is read. Some become planned work, some are merged into an existing item, and some are declined — being on the board does not mean it will be built.
Can I vote more than once?
No. One account, one vote per item, enforced by the database rather than by the page.
