Bone is living tissue that responds to being loaded. Weight-bearing movement and resistance training signal it to stay dense, which is why the same exercise that builds muscle also protects the skeleton. The nutrient side — calcium and vitamin D in particular — provides the raw material, and both are things you can see in a food log or a blood test.
Joints are a different problem: they respond to sensible, progressive load and to keeping a healthy body weight, which reduces the force they carry. Neither bone density nor joint health shows up on a tracker directly, but the behaviours that support them do.
Most bone is banked early in life, which is why activity in youth matters so much — but it is never too late to help: loading the skeleton slows the loss that comes with age, and even in later decades the response to resistance work is real. The habit, not the timing, is what counts.
