Clear

The calendar is empty. Nothing has been reviewed and published yet, so rather than pad this page with invented races, here is exactly what will appear here and how to put the first event on it.

What gets listed

What a listing needs

Five fields, and four of them take a few seconds: the event name, the country, the date and a link to the organiser's own page. The fifth, the distances in kilometres, is the one that does the work — it is what turns a line in a calendar into a page with a split plan, so write 5, 10, 21.1 rather than "several distances".

Pace and split planner

Once you have picked an event, the next question is always the same: what pace holds for the whole distance? The table below is the arithmetic, not a prediction. Read down your realistic pace, and read across for the finish time, the halfway split you should see on the clock, and how long each 5 km block should take if you run it evenly.

5 — 5 km at an even pace.

Two things the table cannot tell you. First, almost nobody runs even splits on a hilly or windy course, so use the halfway column as a sanity check rather than a target to chase. Second, a pace you can hold for 10 km is not a pace you can hold for a marathon: as a rough planning rule, each doubling of the distance costs somewhere around 5 to 7 percent of your speed. Pick the pace you can hold for the whole thing and let the last kilometres decide whether you had more.

Why the season looks the way it does

Every country page here carries a daylight table computed for its capital. At these latitudes daylight is the constraint that shapes the calendar: Helsinki gets under six hours of it in December and nearly nineteen in June, which is why the mass-start season clusters between April and October and why the winter events that do run are usually ski races, indoor track meets or headtorch trail runs. Pick a country to see its own numbers.

List an event

Anyone can submit an event. Every submission is reviewed by a person before it appears, so expect a few days, and expect a listing to be rejected if the organiser page does not confirm the date. Nothing you type here is published automatically.

Your IP address is stored only as a truncated one-way hash, for spam review. No email address is asked for or kept on this form.

Frequently asked questions

Does listing an event cost anything?

No. There is no fee, no featured slot and no commission on entries. The calendar exists because a runner looking for their next 10k is exactly the person who benefits from a training app, and that is the whole business model.

How long does review take?

A few days. A person opens the organiser link, checks the date matches, and either publishes the listing or replies with what was wrong. Nothing is published automatically.

Can I list an event outside these four countries?

Not yet. The calendar starts with Estonia, Finland, Latvia and Lithuania because that is where the moderation can actually be done well. Submitting one anyway does no harm; it simply will not be published.

Are the split tables predictions?

No, they are arithmetic. Distance multiplied by pace, split into halves and 5 km blocks. They contain no assumption about your fitness, the course or the weather.
