TDEE
Total Daily Energy Expenditure — the total calories your body uses in a day.
TDEE is the number of calories your body burns in an average day — everything from breathing and digestion to walking to the fridge and a workout at the gym.
It is built in layers: BMR (calories at complete rest) is the largest share, usually 60–70%. On top of that sits digestion (roughly 10%) and everything you actively do — the most variable piece, from a sedentary desk day to a training day.
TDEE matters because it is the number you compare your food intake to. Eat around it and weight holds steady; eat below it and weight drops; eat above it and weight rises — over weeks, not any single day.
